Leaves on Brandon Hill: A Touch of Green in the City
Leaves on Brandon Hill, part of the Bristol in Brights series, captures a small but beautiful moment in this pocket of green. These furry leaves caught my eye as I wandered through, and I couldn't resist how soft they felt.
If you’ve never been to Brandon Hill, you need to check out Cabot Tower—it’s free to go up and offers the most incredible views of the city. It’s truly a lovely spot to visit, and this piece celebrates the calm and beauty of that special place.

About Bristol in Brights:
When I moved to Bristol in 2020, it was hard to get a true sense of the city. Not only did I know very few people, but the streets were quiet due to the lockdown. To connect with my new surroundings, I took to the streets to explore and create my own narrative of the city. What I discovered left me in awe…
Despite the challenges of the time, I got a real sense of the vibrancy of the city! The colourful houses, the friendly people, the smell of yummy food, and the crazy steep hills - each aspect telling its own story.
I translated this vibrancy into a series of oil pastel drawings that capture not just the city’s unique architecture but also the energy and sense of belonging it radiates.
This series celebrates the joy of finding your own hidden gems, uncovering pretty streets, and embracing the unexpected beauty in your surroundings. Wherever you are, you never know what treasures you might find…
