About Albatross Cafe, North Street:
Albatross Café, part of the Bristol in Brights series, captures the cosy and lively atmosphere of one of my favourite spots in the city. With divine food, light streaming through the windows, and plants basking in its glow, the café feels like the perfect place to work or unwind.
This piece holds a special meaning for me, as Albatross Café was one of the first places I visited before moving to Bristol. Its warmth and charm left a lasting impression, making it a symbol of the welcoming and vibrant community I’ve come to love.

About Bristol in Brights:
When I moved to Bristol in 2020, it was hard to get a true sense of the city. Not only did I know very few people, but the streets were quiet due to the lockdown. To connect with my new surroundings, I took to the streets to explore and create my own narrative of the city. What I discovered left me in awe…
Despite the challenges of the time, I got a real sense of the vibrancy of the city! The colourful houses, the friendly people, the smell of yummy food, and the crazy steep hills - each aspect telling its own story.
I translated this vibrancy into a series of oil pastel drawings that capture not just the city’s unique architecture but also the energy and sense of belonging it radiates.
This series celebrates the joy of finding your own hidden gems, uncovering pretty streets, and embracing the unexpected beauty in your surroundings. Wherever you are, you never know what treasures you might find…
